David Mensing grew up in Iowa, surrounded by wide prairies and carefully groomed cornfields. His ambition as an artist is to share that beauty through his impressionistic paintings.

Mensing describes himself as an artist driven by the inherent beauty of a subject. Working both in plein-air and in his studio, David Mensing strives to refine a scene and draw out the beauty that is already there.

Many collectors are attracted by Mensing's depiction of sky and clouds. "I am drawn to the warmth of clouds and how they complement the deep blues in the sky."
