Connie Bryson grew up in Southern California, and enjoyed the beauties of the natural world: blue mountains, rolling hills, ocean whitecaps, buds of Spring. She recalls: “I remember wandering into an orange grove. The oranges were bursting with color, each round but imperfect, imperfect but unique, all awaiting their pick. I wanted to squeeze them, and to paint them, because I knew my charcoals and pastels would no longer suffice.
