John A. Roof

Born in Coshocton, Ohio, John A. Roof graduated from Texas Tech in 1973, with a BFA in studio painting. John has always drawn, painted, and observed the world around him. The artist describes himself as “a voyeur of the world around me.” When he and his wife, Betsy, moved to Staples, Texas, Roof found inspiration in nature. “Arles was to Van Gogh what Staples is to me.”
